In size acceptance circles, they always say to ask the doctor, "so is this something that only happens to fat people?" and if they say no, then tell them "I want you to tell me the same thing you would tell a thin person."

sorry, had to get on my soapbox yet again . . . seriously, though, I'm so glad you had such a good outcome . . .

blessings to you all,

lorraine
(fat girl in Grand Rapids)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12830202.post-33102336194045340682008-08-28T23:14:00.000+00:002008-08-28T23:14:00.000+00:00Hi Uncle Bob and Aunt Renita...just wanted to than...Hi Uncle Bob and Aunt Renita...just wanted to thank the Lord with you both! All ya gotta do is move to a developing country with so-so health care, sign up with an insurance company that will not treat you in the US, then hope like crazy that your in-country doctor misdiagnoses your migraine as a TIA,(you'll have to lie that you don't know what it is-- I was just ignorant), then hope again that the insurance folks select someplace cool. It happened for me!

BobThe Reeds in the Windhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12861913317985600596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12830202.post-39707106347509338752008-08-28T00:06:00.000+00:002008-08-28T00:06:00.000+00:00Hey - I get migraines with auras once every month ...Hey - I get migraines with auras once every month or two. So...do you think you could put a good word in for me, Bob? I'd like to be evaluated by the good folks in Milan as well. They sound MUCH nicer than the Doctors in the hospital just down the street! ;-)

Glad you got to the bottom of it and it wasn't serious (although migraines are definitely NOT fun!)...and best of all, you get a couple of days in a fabulous city with your wife. What a blessing!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15189053954129328468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12830202.post-31151413361613516302008-08-27T00:31:00.000+00:002008-08-27T00:31:00.000+00:00Wow, migraine...never considered that. I've gotten...Wow, migraine...never considered that. I've gotten migraines with aura's my whole life. As I've aged the headache parts have gotten LESS painful. Never had the speech issues though. interesting. I've done reading on migraines in the past and they say that migraine sufferers have an increased chance of stroke b/c of the vascular issues. Thankfully no pressure or cholesterol issues here...but I'm still young--they could still rear their ugly heads. sigh.

Very happy to hear that things were NOT more serious. I'm sure having those symptoms produced more anxiety than necessary. But you did get a nice mini- "vacation".
